Kudzu & Invasive Species Help

Gillette Woods Association is helping to preserve the beauty and health of our neighborhood by tackling invasive plants, especially kudzu. Kudzu spreads quickly, climbing trees and covering native vegetation, and if left unchecked can cause serious damage to our landscape.

Property owners who want to better manage kudzu and other invasive species on their property and who are current Gillette Woods members can request a free assessment. Here’s how we can help:

  • Identification: If you’re unsure whether a vine or plant on your property is kudzu, we can assist with identification.
  • Advice & Instruction: We can provide guidance on the most effective ways to remove or control kudzu and other invasive species.
  • Removal Assistance: When possible, our volunteers can lend a hand in managing outbreaks and reducing the spread in our neighborhood.

Over the years, volunteers have invested many hours in kudzu eradication projects throughout Gillette Woods, using both manual removal and targeted treatment. These efforts have made a visible difference, but the fight is ongoing.
